A Chinese kung fu master pulls eight cars by the end of her plait in her last ever stunt before cutting off all her hair to become a nun.

Chinese kung fu master Zhang Tingting's plait is not just for decoration.

As well as slicing through pieces of paper, fifty-two year old Zhang's hair can also be used to tow vehicles.

On Tuesday, Zhang and her hair lugged eight cars around 30 metres through her hometown of Kaifeng, Henan province.

The performance was nothing new for Zhang, who has already pulled off over ten such stunts.

Buddhist Kung Fu Master Zhang Tingting saying:

"Kung fu's for women too, not just men, and I have this strength in my plait. So I decided to use it to pull cars. I can pull more than 10 cars. But it's not just cars - I can pull anything."

But the spectacle was to be Zhang's plait's last.

Hours later, she had her hair totally removed in an initiation ceremony that allowed her to finally fulfill her dream of becoming a Buddhist nun.

But for Zhang it was worth it.

Buddhist Kung Fu Master Zhang Tingting saying:

"I didn't find it hard, I feel great. I really always wanted to cut my hair off, but I couldn't because of the performances. But this time I've given it up for good."

Zhang will now never fulfill plans to pull a plane next year in a bid for her first Guinness World Record.

But she's got more important things to think about.
