Actor Johnny Depp and director Tim Burton are teaming up again. This time for a remake of the popular classic "Alice In Wonderland." Depp plays The Mad Hatter. The film is set to be released on March 5, 2010.

Depp plays The Mad Hatter in this 3-D animation version of the story.

The movie is based on an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll.

It tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit-hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures.

Most of the book's adventures were based on and influenced by people, situations and buildings in Oxford, England and at Christ Church, i.e. the "Rabbit Hole," which symbolized the actual stairs in the back of the main hall in Christ Church.

In the film Alice attends a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types.

She runs away and ends up following The White Rabbit (played by British actor Michael Sheen) into a hole leading to Wonderland.

British actress Helena Bonham Carter portrays The Red Queen and American actress Anne Hathaway plays. The White Queen.

Australian actress Mia Wasikowska plays Alice.

Burton is known for his dark and quirky films, including "Edward Scissorhands" and "Beetlejuice."

He frequently works with close friend Depp, musician Danny Elfman, and fiance Carter.

His first job was working as an animator for Disney.

The film is set to be released on March 5, 2010.
