A Guide to EasyJet Flights
Author: Jez Rourke

The low cost airline EasyJet is based at Luton Airport in
Bedfordshire. They have grown from their humble beginnings
of just two routes, London to Glasgow and London the
Edinburgh and now run cheap flights on close to three
hundred routes. They operate internal flights from most
airports in the UK and serve airports across Europe
including Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece,
Netherlands, Portugal just to name just a few.

Almost ninety five percent of EasyJet ticket sales are made
online at their website easyjet.com, and their business
model is akin to most other low cost airlines in that they
have a no frills approach. They also provide what the
customer wants, such as ticketless electronic
documentation, flight flexibility and no-penalty one-way
fares.

The EasyJet fleet mainly consists of Airbus A319 jets and
Boeing 737-700. They are able to offer the cheapest flights
because they negotiate take off and landing slots at
airports serving capital cities across Europe, and keep
their overheads down in both management and flight
operations.

One way this has been achieved was teaming up with
Microsoft to initiate the new EasyJet desktop device for
Vista and Office 2007, which allows you to personalize
flight information when using the online booking service.

However when booking a cheap flight with a low cost airline
like EasyJet it is good to remember that once a flight has
departed, you will not be entitled to a refund or to change
your seats if you are late for your flight, as this is
another way to keep costs low. Always look around to see
what is available online, as sometimes it possible to book
EasyJet flights cheaper through a third party website.

The EasyJet website provides links to easyValue.com,
easyCar.com and easyMoney.com. You can also buy a hotel and
flight package, car rental, travel insurance or book a
hotel or apartment directly from the website.

If you dislike queuing when checking in for your flight,
then for a small fee you can choose Speedy Boarding, which
guarantees you will be one of the first to go through the
gate and onto the plane.

Special arrangements need to be made if you are planning to
take a bicycle with you. You will have to pack it in a box
on its own with the handlebars and pedals flush to the
frame, and check in two hours before departure to guarantee
carriage.

EasyJet are planning three more budget flights for the
beginning of 2009. They are London Gatwick to Copenhagen,
Paris Charles de Gaulle to Bastia (Corsica) and Paris
Charles de Gaulle to Barcelona.
