Hollywood actress Natalie Portman brings Hollywood flair to the Venice Film
Festival and opens the short film section with her film "Eve" -- her
first film as director.

Hollywood actress Natalie Portman opened the short film section at
the Venice Film Festival on Monday (September 1), making her directorial debut
with her short-film "Eve".
Portman, 27, arrived by boat at the festival venue where her film was
screened to members of the press and the public. The first-time director,
wearing jeans and a grey t-shirt, was cheered on by fans when her film was
presented inside the theatre and warmly applauded at the end.
Portman's 21-minute "Eve", is about the search for love by
ageing people. The film, which stars Lauren Bacall and Ben Gazzara, is not in
competition.
