Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the moon, says not only have
aliens been visiting the earth for the past sixty years since the Roswell
incident, but that world governments are aware and have been covering it
up.

WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, USA (JULY 25, 2008) NBC
A veteran of the Apollo 14 mission -- Edgar Mitchell has mementos
of his February 1971 moonwalk on the walls of his South Florida home. But the
Lake worth resident on Friday (July 25) said humans are not the only beings
who have travelled into space.
Mitchell says aliens have visited our planet and he believes the
government covered up the discovery of an alien spacecraft in 1947 in Roswell,
as well as four alien bodies that were found in the desert.
Mitchell's resurgence in the media was sparked by a recent interview
with a popular British radio station. The former astronaut told the Kerrang!
show the U.S. government had been covering up its involvement with UFO's and
aliens.
Mitchell, with the commander of the Apollo 14 mission Alan Shepard,
holds the record for the longest moonwalk, at 9 hours and 17 minutes.
He says he's "totally sure" there's life
on other planets. He added he has intelligence that earth has been visited by
and that the UFO phenomenon is real - though it's been covered up by
governments for the last 60 years or so.
But Mitchell's comments aren't necessarily being embraced by everyone
in the UFO community.
Don Berlinger, Chairman of the non profit Foundation For UFO Research,
told Reuters that Mitchell's claims are nothing new.
"I am sceptical, yeah, and that won't change until as I say he
backs it up with something or somebody else comes along...somebody who is not
unknown prior to yesterday...backs up what he's said," said
Berlinger.
Berlinger, though, says he still believes in extraterrestrial life, and
that there is more to the incident in Roswell, New Mexico.
NASA, of course, is trying to downplay Edgar Mitchell's remarks and is
denying that it is involved in some sort of alien conspiracy cover up.
