An 39-year-old Austrian man has admitted murdering five members of his own
family, including his wife and daughter.

VIENNA, AUSTRIA (MAY 14, 2008) APA AUSTRIA -

Police in the Austrian capital Vienna say a man has admitted killing
five members of his own family. The 39-year old reportedly walked into a
police station in the early hours of Wednesday (May 14) morning and told the
police that they would find the bodies of his wife and his 7-year-old daughter
in his house.
The bodies of the man's parents were later found in the town of
Ansfelden in Upper Austria, as well as his father-in-law, who was found in a
house in the city of Linz.
Police in Vienna say all of the victims were most probably killed on
Tuesday (May 13). A police spokesperson said his wife and daughter were
probably killed with an axe but it is unknown how the other victims died.
So far there has been no explanation for the murders.
