* Madonna asks for postponement on adoption hearing
* Britney's busy
* Jackie Chan wins the weekend box office
SCRIPT:
Madonna has asked a Malawian court to delay a hearing to finalize her
adoption of a boy from the southern African nation. The singer's law firm in
Malawi filed the motion requesting the adoption hearing be moved to May 15
instead of April 22. The pop singer's need to travel to the United States for
business was cited as the reason for the delay.
Sandra Bullock and her husband, TV star Jesse James walk away from a
head-on collision with a drunk driver. It happened in Massachusetts where the
"Speed" star is working on her next film. Police say the other
driver, who was arrested on drunk driving charges, had twice the legal alcohol
limit.
Britney Spears is doing it again. The pop singer will appear in a second
episode of "How I Met Your Mother." The 26-year-old star, who
continues to make progress in rehabbing her life and career, earned nice
reviews for her initial guest starring role, playing a ditzy receptionist at a
dermatologist's office.
"The Forbidden Kingdom," a first collaboration between action
heroes Jackie Chan and Jet Li, kicked its rivals at the weekend box office in
North America, also becoming the first martial arts movie to open at No. 1 in
almost four years. According to studio estimates issued Sunday, the film sold
21 million dollars (USD) worth of tickets during its first three days, handily
exceeding industry forecasts. Checking in at the No. 2 spot "Forgetting
Sarah Marshall" with the romantic comedy earning 17 million.
