The latest celebrity news including Eddie Van Halen triggers a major tour
cancellation for his band, plus Janet Jackson taken ill, Hugh Laurie
frustrated with his countrymen and Patrick Dempsey gives back.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (REUTERS) - Van Halen's reunion tour is now officially in disarray. The band
announced that it will postpone all shows for the next month while Eddie Van
Halen undergoes medical testing. There's no word what kind of condition the
guitarist might have. Fans have been asked to keep their tickets which will
apparently be honoured at make-up dates later this year.
A brief but unpleasant illness for Janet Jackson. The veteran singer
went to the emergency room at a Los Angeles hospital to be examined after she
came down with a severe case of the flu.  But her representative says she was
not admitted, and is back at home in bed.
Hugh Laurie says he has been blackballed from British film and TV
productions because of perceptions that he has sold out. The Golden Globe
winner told a U.K. publication that he hasn't been offered any work in his
home country since he became a household name in the United States. Laurie
stars in the critically acclaimed and highly rated medical drama
"House."
Speaking of TV doctors, Patrick Dempsey is trying to make a difference
for patients in the real world. The actor has made a large donation to a
cancer treatment facility in his home state of Maine, which will now bear his
name. Dempsey's mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer ten years ago but has
been so far treated successfully. In Los Angeles, I'm Pascal Pinck for
