The latest celebrity news including more squabbles between attorneys for Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, plus J.K. Rowling goes after a tabloid newspaper, friends of Heath Ledger help finish his last film, The Game is back on the street, and Eva Longoria is cooking up business.
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (REUTERS) -- Lawyers for Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are going nose to nose, sparring over one million dollars (USD) in legal fees. Meanwhile, a family court officer let stand a ruling that has denied the pop singer custody and severely restricted her contact with the couple's two sons. That order denied Spears any visitation, even though in recent weeks Federline has agreed to limited visits between her and the boys.
Elsewhere, J.K. Rowling has gone back to court, with her attorneys targeting a tabloid newspaper that published an unauthorized photo of her son. Lawyers for the author filed an appeal in the privacy case against Britain's Sunday Express magazine, which was initially thrown out by a London court last year.
Johnny Depp is joining some fellow Hollywood A-listers in helping to finish Heath Ledger's last movie project. Depp will work alongside Colin Farrell and Jude Law to complete "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus," directed by Terry Gilliam.
The Game has done his time ... sort of. The rapper was released from L.A. County jail after spending eight days behind bars -- this in the wake of his 60-day sentence on firearms charges.
And finally, Eva Longoria was out on the town to celebrate her latest business venture. The "Desperate Housewives" star attended the opening of her new restaurant, which aims to serve tex-mex cooking to Hollywood's glitterati.
