NEW YORK, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Lord & Taylor announces Next Year's Model The 2008 Lord & Taylor Model Search, a six market casting call for models to be featured in its Spring 2009 advertising campaign. Casting calls for the next face of Lord & Taylor will begin in the New York Fifth Avenue flagship February 11. Executives from Lord & Taylor's corporate office will travel to stores in Garden State Plaza, Paramus NJ; February 12, Prudential Center, Boston, MA; February 13, Chevy Chase, Washington, DC; February 14, Eastchester, Scarsdale, NY, February 15; and Garden City, NY, February 16. All calls will be held from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Would be contestants, must be 18 years old and residents of the U.S. They can get details and contest rules by visiting, www.lordandtaylor.com/modelsearch. Registration will take place at each of the locations listed above on the date of the casting call only. Twenty contestants will be selected per market and their images posted in the model search site within 48 hours. The public will have the opportunity to vote their favorites, one vote per e-mail. The first round of the vote will close at midnight, February 21. The ten top contestants per market will be posted on the site, February 22 and the second round of voting will begin, ending at midnight, February 26. Public vote will count for 49%.

The top two finalists per market will be announced at 2 pm, February 29. They will be invited to come to New York, all expenses paid, to participate in a Fashion Show on the Tenth Floor of Lord & Taylor's Fifth Avenue store, Thursday, March 6. Industry experts, including LaVelle Olexa, Lord & Taylor's SVP Advertising, Sales Promotion and Public Relations and David Lipman, Chairman of LIPMAN, the advertising agency responsible for Lord & Taylor's much talked about $10 Million branding campaign will be among the judges who will select the two winners of Next Year's Model The Lord & Taylor Model Search to be shot during Fall 2008. The winners will also win a $1000 Lord & Taylor shopping spree and each of the ten finalists, a $500 Lord & Taylor shopping spree.

Aimed to modernize the store's image while celebrating its 181-year-old heritage, Lord & Taylor's branding campaign debuted last Fall, showcasing the results of the four year repositioning effort spearheaded by Jane Elfers, Lord & Taylor's President and Chief Executive Officer. Lord & Taylor has created a buzz in the fashion industry by demonstrating its commitment to upgrading merchandise assortments, in-store services and amenities, brand packaging and the total overhaul of its media mix.
