Manufacturing Your Own Cologne

Perfumes have been around for countless years. What people tend
to forget is there are diverse types of these that are being
sold in the marketplace. The really elementary ones are known as
body splashes while those that last a little longer on the skin
are the Eau De Cologne and the Eau de Toilette.
The Eau de Cologne is generally considered to be a light
perfume. There are a lot of manufacturers that offer this
however those who don't wish to spend lots of cash can settle
for some home fashioned concoctions. Here are some good examples
to try for yourself.
The first blend is called Lemon Spirit. The ingredients are
composed of lemon grass, lavender and lime essential oils. Once
these are mixed together with some vodka and shaken well, the
mixture ought to be stored for three weeks.
When the time has passed, the container must be brought out and
at least a cup of distilled water should be added to the cologne
and then kept again for a further week. This ought to be shaken
daily and then transferred into a container for immediate usage.
Another example of an Eau De Cologne is called Peace. The only
difference between this and the other recipe is the essential
oils that are used. For this mixture, you will need Bergamot,
Cedar wood and Frankincense.
After the oils are mixed, distilled water and vodka are added
next. This should then be put aside for more than a month, which
is much longer than the other type of perfume so that everything
can settle before this can be distributed and used.
The process of producing colognes isn't that different compared
to body splashes and Eau de Toilettes. This is as it still needs
the three basic notes namely base, middle and top note to put
everything together and then requires some volume of alcohol and
water to help it tie-up.
The completed product must be placed in a closed container so
that the contents don't evaporate.
There are other recipes of Eau De Colognes leaving out the two
mentioned. By doing some digging and with a little researching,
the hobbyist will be able to learn everything necessary. Those
who are bold enough may even attempt creating one that could be
very salable in the industry.
Those who would wish to go into business should think carefully
about pricing and packaging. It will be a good idea to compute
the cost of the materials to determine how large a markup can be
added.
When this is completed, the individual can either offer this to
someone who will act as a distributor for the item or sell it
straight to the consumer. Those who have sufficient capital can
rent some space whilst those who do not may still start out from
home and can try this online.
Succeeding in the perfume industry is certain not to happen
overnight. This is due to the fact that a lot of companies have
already been doing this for years therefor it will take some
time to establish the name. The best thing to do is to find out
which are the salable ones and go on to make them in larger
quantities. A certain portion of the budget ought to also go
into research and development insofar as an entrepreneur cannot
usually rely on old recipes from a book.
The only way for them to stand out is to make new ones so they
will be different from the other similar cologne already being
offered in the marketplace.
