Engrafting the Word - Illustrated

                           God's Elect

Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul
delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth
judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor
cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall
he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall
bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be
discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the
isles shall wait for his law.

I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two
leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before
thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in
pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches
of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which
call thee by thy name, am the God of (Your Name). For Jacob my
servant's sake, and (Your Name) mine elect, I have even called
thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not
known me. And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of
Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit
it, and my servants shall dwell there.

That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in
the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear
by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten,
and because they are hid from mine eyes. For, behold, I create
new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be
remembered, nor come into mind.

Be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for,
behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And
I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice
of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of
crying.

There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man
that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred
years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be
accursed. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they
shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant,
and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my
people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for
they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring
with them. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I
will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat
straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith
the Lord. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a
trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four
winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto
him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will
avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh,
shall he find faith on the earth?

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God
that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that
died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right
hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall
separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither
death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor
things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor
any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of
God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels
of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness,
longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another,
if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave
you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity,
which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule
in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and
be ye thankful.

I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the
elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring
one before another, doing nothing by partiality. Lay hands
suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep
thyself pure.

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according
to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth
which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God,
that cannot lie, promised before the world began; But hath in due
times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed
unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour.

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, Elect according to the
foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the
Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus
Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which
according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a
lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To
an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not
away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of
God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last
time.

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be,
ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial
of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that
perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto
praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him
not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of
glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of
your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and
searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come
unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of
Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified
beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should
follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but
unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto
you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy
Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to
look into.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to
the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the
revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning
yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But
as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner
of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am
holy.

And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons
judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your
sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not
redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your
vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But
with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the
foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for
you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the
dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in
God.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through
the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love
one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of
corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which
liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all
the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and
the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord
endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is
preached unto you.

Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and
hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn
babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow
thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To
whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men,
but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are
built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up
spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in
Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth
on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe
he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone
which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the
corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to
them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also
they were appointed.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy
nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises
of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous
light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the
people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have
obtained mercy.

The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in
the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the
truth; For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be
with us for ever.

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of
Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ,
he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you,
and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house,
neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is
partaker of his evil deeds.

The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
