at www.stewsstripped.com
FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 2006--Stewardesses
Stripped LLC proudly announces the launch of its 2007 Calendar "More
Stewardesses Stripped" now available at www.stewsstripped.com, drawing
global attention to all workers and retirees who have been, or are
about to be, stripped of their defined benefit pension plans.
Twelve active and retired flight attendants from six major airlines
symbolically stripped for the 2007 calendar to garner awareness about
the escalating pension default problem throughout the world. The
pension issue is not only prevalent in the United States, but expands
all borders into Canada, Europe, Asia, South America and beyond.
The "Stews Stripped" 2006 calendar sold more than 10,000 copies,
generated more than two million website hits and was featured in many
national and international broadcast and print media outlets.
"Pension loss has continued to affect a significant portion of the
population and will affect an even greater portion of the population
in the future if we don't continue to educate people about this crisis
today," said retired United Airlines flight attendant and Stewardesses
Stripped founder Connie Baker. "There is a definite crisis in the
pension guaranty system and it crosses all industries and all
professions, affecting each and every worker and retiree. We hope the
2007 calendar will facilitate greater awareness of this serious issue
in a lighthearted and uniquely American way."
Stewardesses Stripped is also proud to announce a partnership with the
Pension Preservation Network available at www.protectpensions.org.
"Today, more than ever, it is imperative for both working and retired
individuals to understand the issues surrounding pensions," said
Pension Prevention Network founder and chairman and retired United
Airlines pilot Jim Hosking. "Reforms are urgently needed to ensure
fairness in our pension system and to prevent employers from being
able to abandon their promises to workers. It is essential for people
to become actively involved and take the necessary measures to protect
their hard earned pension benefits before it's too late."
Now is the time to learn more about the pension crisis facing America
and join together to take action and work to influence future
legislation. Americans have a stake in this fight to save retirement
security for all workers. Visit www.protectpensions.org to get
involved today.
