Eyes that See Spirits
Eyes that See Differently Psychic. The word brings images of `woo-woo' stuff, psychic hotline commercials, carnival sideshows and charlatans. Does anyone really take this stuff seriously? I confess to similar thoughts once—until several people with these `different abilities' started coming into my life, and in unrelated situations. My queue the universe had some lessons for me, and it was time to pay attention. Here's what I learned: Some people have abilities I don't. And just because I don't have those abilities, doesn't mean they don't exist. And some of those abilities fall under the term psychic. From past experience I know that some people's eyes see colors differently. I have an art fair pottery mug with a light brown leaf design painted on it—at least I see brown. My mother sees green. Same mug. Her brown eyes see colors differently than my blue ones. In the eye glasses section of a local department store, there are standard lense sunglasses and Polaroid lense glasses. When I tried on standard lenses, I saw everything clearly—or so I thought. When I tried on the Polaroids, what was hidden with the standard lenses came into sharp focus. It isn't that far a stretch for me to consider the possibility that some people have eyes that see spirits and energy fields. My eyes have standard lenses; theirs have Polaroids. And because of that, they have additional information they can share if we ask them to. I have. And it is amazing and comforting, and an experience of sacred time and space. When someone we love goes on a long trip, it's reassuring to know they arrived safely and are okay. Or it's the closure or opportunity to say good-bye. The gifted individuals I know are healers and mediums that help heal souls and spirits. We took a lot of things on faith as children, especially teachings about the afterlife and what happens when we leave here. For some, faith is enough. For others, in our basic humanity, reassurance that our loved ones are okay or still with us, or a chance to say good bye or thank you or I love you, matters to our spiritual peace. There are many gifts of spirit and light. Ancient writings tell us of these. I've been a seeker for a long time and studied many paths. The lessons that come my way like this are a gentle reminder that there's much MORE yet to learn—if I'm open to the gift. About the Author: (c) Anne Wondra (2006).
