SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/24/06 -- PC Tools today announced the availability of Spyware Doctor 3.8, the most comprehensive and effective version to date of the award-winning anti-spyware solution.

The latest version introduces a number of new and innovative technologies, including the patent-pending Spider Scanning Technology, which has been implemented into Spyware Doctor's scanning engine. The technology significantly reduces scanning time, in some cases by 25 percent(1), while also detecting a higher number of threats.

Also included in version 3.8 is a new rootkit scanning ability, which provides an added layer of protection against rootkits and other complex threats.
