Sonic Network Founder Jennifer Hruska, Will Give a Presentation on
Next-Generation Mobile Music-Making for the Young and the Wireless
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2006--Jennifer Hruska, Founder and
President of Sonic Network, Inc., a music industry veteran providing
audio synthesis technology and high quality instrument wavetables,
will speak on using mobile phones as musical instruments at the Game
Developers Conference, March 20-24 in San Jose, CA
One of the foremost authorities in the MI and embedded audio systems
industry, Hruska will focus on the new and lucrative market
opportunity this technology represents for game designers, handset
makers and wireless operators worldwide, as well as the technical and
experiential aspects of designing a mobile musical instrument.
For the 54% of American households in which at least one member plays
an instrument, mobile musical instruments may be a whole new dimension
that awaits. For the rest of us, they might well represent the gateway
to an entirely transforming experience, because the technology is now
available to transform wireless handsets into true musical
instruments.
Music has long been proven to help young children learn and develop,
relieve stress in teenagers and young adults, and stave off some aging
effects in senior citizens. Recent musical instrument sales
corroborate this far-ranging array of benefits. In the U.S. alone,
sales of traditional instrumentation hit a record $7.3B in 2004.
Now, with the addition of the mobile platform as a music-making
device, Hruska sees a future bright with on-the-go music creation
capabilities for virtually anyone, anywhere, anytime.
Hruska will deliver a 45-minute lecture on March 21 at 3 to 3:45pm
PST. More information about the conference can be found at
