The Money Making Internet Business
Martin Boyd
Hype or reality? A lot of this exists on the Internet today.
We are all well informed of Ideas and techniques, however
these are all useless if you don't first understand your very
own business model.
The 3 most popular business models are:
1. Affiliate Marketing
Undoubtedly the most popular model, why? There are no obstacles
to entry. Nearly all of us can sign up for this type of
opportunity for free. We then promote the product or service and
hope that someone will buy, and bingo, we earn commission. As an
affiliate marketer we have no inventory and no shipping or
handling risk. We also have very little start up capital
invested.
Taking into consideration the above benefits, It is no wonder
almost everyman and his dog promotes these affiliate
opportunities. Every website you visit you see ad's and banners
promoting products and services, would it be the same if
affiliate marketing had not evolved?
It is a closely guarded secret that only 5% of affiliates
marketers ever make any money and only 1% make the big bucks.
These "Super affiliates" market very different from the
many, thus the big checks.

marketer here:

2. E-book and Information Publishing
Now here's the other end of the scale, e-book authors. These
individuals need to be a little more regimented. primarily they
need to invest more than affiliates. They cannot get something
for nothing.
A successful e-book publisher can reap great reward, but if
you think it is easy, think again. You will need to learn a lot
more than affiliate marketers to reach your income goal. You
will also have to invest heavily. The risk is far greater.
Smart e-book marketers will make more money in the end, the
reason is simple. Low production costs and low maintenance
costs. If it's digital it costs zero to produce and in the
millions if required! The initial investment can be recouped
from your affiliates selling just a few high margin e-books.
3. Internet Based Network Marketing
The Internet and Network Marketing are voiced around the web as
a well suited marriage. I differ from this opinion. Internet
based network marketing is very different from affiliate
marketing. This is what I believe most are talking about,
affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketers can tend to hide behind their PC, they
keep trying to sell more products, ignoring the networking
role in the business. A very important role that should never
be overlooked. Affiliate marketers can have a system that is
complicated and only they can operate. Does this sound like
network marketing to you?
Network marketing on the internet is simple if you understand
relationships and how to build them. The Internets role is only
to get you the names and contact details of the prospects you
can talk to. After this has been established, YOU build the
relationship. You personally help them start an Internet
business, not an autoresponder!
No matter which model you choose, make sure you understand
the basics, and stop listening to and buying things that
are not applicable to your business. Information overload
can stop you before you even get started.
