Ken Jacobs on "The Hidden Cost of Wal-Mart Jobs," followed by

PURPOSE:
To inform the public about negative effects of the Wal-Mart
business model on communities in which the firm does business.
The Elk Grove Peace & Justice Forum will host the first local
screenings of "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price," the new film by
Robert Greenwald ("Outfoxed"), 4 and 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the
Elk Grove United Methodist Church, 8983 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove.
The screenings, which are among more than 3,000 premieres across the
country this week, are presented in cooperation with
WakeUpWalMart.com.
Between the screenings, at 5:30 p.m., a presentation and discussion on
"The Hidden Cost of Wal-Mart Jobs" will be led by author-researcher
Ken Jacobs of the Center for Labor Research and Education at UC
Berkeley.
The public is invited to both events.
