At 46, he still remains the dream guy for his female fans. George
Clooney on Tuesday (April 8) joined his co-star Renee Zellweger for the UK
premiere of his film 'Leatherheads'.
Some of his American fans had come to see him.
"Well you see George and I met a while ago and I gave him my phone
number and he was like that's just not enough , you come to my Leaherheads
premiere in London, stand right by this sign and I see you and I get to pull
you over the fence so we go in together but you see I have another girlfriend
but I can have a second girlfriend that's ok," one fan joked.
The film is a romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football, where
the owner of a professional team drafts a strait-laced college sensation, only
to watch his new coach fall for his fiancée.
With his earlier outings as a director, Clooney had taken supporting
parts, but with this one he was determined to play the lead role of Dodge
Connelly, a brash and charming jock who is determined to bring respectability
to a primitive sport which back in the 1920s tended to degenerate into
brawling free-for-alls.
The film had a disappointing opening at the American box office, coming
in at number three and failing to beat '21' at the top spot.
"It's hard to open a sports film the same week as The Final Four ,
it's the biggest sports week in the year so that would have probably stung us
a bit but that's ok," Clooney Said.
    Zellweger was equally upbeat.
"It's a good movie, it's a really good movie and I had the time of
my life making it , no regrets," she told Reuters.
Not present on the red carpet in London was Clooney's girlfriend Sarah
Larson. Asked whether there could be a wedding , Clooney joked:
"Yes I was married this morning, it was amazing you should have
been there. I actually did it with Beyonce and Jay-Z , it was
fantastic."
Leatherheads" opens in the UK on April 11, 2008.
