From treasure hunts, islands, and castles the stories get more magical. Amanda Maranino tells of her Castle Fantasy. “Our proposal began at 5 a.m. when Robert woke me for a crazy surprise road trip with him. After five hours, we arrived at a boat dock in Thousand Islands, NY. We took a ferry across the St. Lawrence River to Boldt Castle on Heart Island. Robert and I got dressed up slightly for dinner; however, we looked horrible because Robert forgot to pack some of my clothes and his shoes! We made do and ate a fancy dinner in one of the grand dining rooms. But when I went upstairs to change my shoes I noticed that there was an extra door in our suite and it was slightly open. I ran over to see what was in it to find that it was another bedroom. The room was covered with one thousand yellow and pink daisies! Robert got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me and asked me to marry him. It was the perfect proposal.”
