Snowfall in parts of Germany interrupts the journeys of some motorists
while others manage to clear their path and continue.
BROCKEN MOUNTAIN, GERMANY (NOVEMBER 21, 2008) REUTERS -
Winter arrived in parts of Germany early on Friday (November 21),
causing travel chaos for some motorists.
Freezing temperatures and snowfall on the Brocken mountain and
elsewhere in eastern Germany's Hartz region meant that several trucks on the
B4 regional road were forced to take a break until snowploughs arrived to
clear the streets.
"I couldn't find a place to park So far it's okay still, until I
can find a parking place. Then I guess I need to wait for the snowplough to
arrive," said one truck driver, named Timo.
In the town of Braunlage, a woman cleaned her car from snow so she
could drive to work.
Clearly familiar with the problem, she said with a smile "the
heater is already on. That way it comes off more easily."
Meteorologists predict more snowfall, some of which is due in Berlin
before noon (1100 GMT).
