Symantec Offers Webcast on Consumer Security


CUPERTINO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/06/06 -- Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ:
SYMC) today announced it will host a webcast discussing the evolution
of consumer security and new strategies for ensuring consumer
protection and productivity. The one-hour webcast will be held on
Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 at 9 a.m. PT.


Enrique Salem, Symantec senior vice president, Security Products and
Solutions, will lead the webcast. The presentation will explore the
current computing environment and will discuss consumers' needs and
demands, the increasingly challenging threat landscape, changing
security requirements, and today's evolving environment. He will also
discuss how Symantec will address this new environment, followed by a
question and answer session.
