About.com Introduces 3 New 'Guidesites,' Offering Even More Advice,
Practical Information
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 2006--About.com, the top 10 site
and largest publisher of original content on the Web, recently
announced the addition of three new "Guidesites" to its already rich
offerings. Constantly expanding its broad reach and depth, About.com
provides content from over 500 experts or "Guides" who share their
passions, useful information and advice on over 57,000 topics.

Currently live at About.com, the new Guidesites provide resources,
insight and perspective on all aspects of their topics, which include:

-- Greek Food (http://greekfood.about.com) - As an American living in
Greece for over 30 years, Nancy Gaifyllia is able to share her
intimate experience of Greek food and cooking. On her site, Nancy
brings her readers into the kitchens and cookbooks of great chefs
throughout the country.

-- Identity Theft (http://idtheft.about.com) - Brian Koerner's
involvement in fraud and scams began when he worked as a police
officer several years ago. Currently, Brian is a security architect
for a Fortune 100 computer services firm where he assesses business
and security risks of information systems. He continually stays
abreast on matters of security and privacy, particularly as they
relate to identity theft, and shares them with visitors to his site.

-- TV Comedy (http://tvcomedies.about.com) - Wayne Keating has five
decades of TV watching experience and all the right equipment: a
big-screen TV, a high-definition antenna and HD cable with a DVR. He
will guide visitors to the good and away from the bad, fill them in on
what they missed, and share more about favorite stars and shows.

Guides on these topics will offer About.com users an informed
perspective, speaking with authority, personal experience and real
field knowledge. For instance, Brian Koerner, the About.com Guide to
Identity Theft, says, "Crimes of identity theft and fraud can have a
major financial and emotional impact on victims for many years. It is
my passion to provide you the information, resources and tools to help
you protect your privacy and identity."

"We are pleased to welcome these new Guides to About.com," said Mike
Daecher, senior vice president, Content and Guide Operations. "Like
all of our Guides, they will strive to offer the voice-of-reason,
providing answers to a question, solving a problem, or teaching
something new."

Another new addition to About.com is a New Year's Resolutions section,
adds Daecher. The special section features content aimed at helping
people share their experiences and achieve their goals. Online tools
include free e-courses, online newsletters, RSS feeds and a new series
of blogs from real individuals undertaking common resolutions such as
weight loss, smoking cessation, and personal finance.
