AC Milan and Manchester City discuss the future of Brazil's Kaka but the
player insists he is happy to stay with the Italian club.

AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has met Manchester City
officials to discuss the future of Kaka, but the Brazilian said on Wednesday
(January 14) he was happy at the Serie A club.
Galliani spoke with City on Tuesday but Milan did not say if an offer
was made for the playmaker or whether they would accept any bid. A statement
issued by the club said the City officials were received as "a gesture of
courtesy" and there were no talks at the moment.
Kaka told Sport Mediaset on Wednesday he was happy at the San Siro.
"I repeat what I always said. They (Manchester City) can make they
offer they want, then it will be up to AC Milan to decide. I have already
turned down many other offers. This is certainly not what will make me leave
AC Milan. As I said, as long as my objectives are the same as the objectives
of AC Milan and I'd like to stay here. If I stay here and grow old, for
instance, then maybe they'll send me away. But now I am very happy
here."
Kaka said he had learned from the experience of teamate Andriy
Shevchenko, who was sold to Chelsea, failed to make an impact and eventually
returned to Milan.
"The fact that he left and then came back regretting that he had
left is an example for all of us," he said.
Media reports have said City, now the richest club in the world after
being taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group, had bid 100 million euros
($132 million) for the 26-year-old, who won the Ballon D'Or and FIFA world
player of the year award in 2007 but lost both titles to Cristiano Ronaldo in
2008. Injuries dogged him last year and he struggled for consistency.
Milan fought off sustained interest from Real Madrid for Kaka in the
past while media reports said Chelsea have also been eyeing him.
Last year City - local rivals to Manchester United - signed Brazilian
striker Robinho for approximately £32 million from Real Madrid on the final
day of the summer transfer window, shortly after the new owners had taken over
the club.
Despite all their riches, City are struggling in the bottom half
Premier League under manager Mark Hughes, a former United player.
Milan, Champions League winners in 2007, have a track record of success
while City are not guaranteed to prosper despite their vast wealth.
