Ferrari become the first team to unveil their 2009 car.

MARANELLO, ITALY (JANUARY 12, 2009) WIGE -
Ferrari unveiled their new F60 Formula One car on Monday (January
12), becoming the first team to launch a car which meets new regulations.

The biggest change in the new rules agreed on by all the teams is in
the aerodynamics, with the cars having lower and wider front wings while the
rear wings are higher and narrower. It is hoped that these and other
modifications will make overtaking easier, leading to more exciting
racing.
Brazil's Felipe Massa lost the 2008 championship by one point to
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, but he and fellow driver Kimi Raikkonen of Finland
clinched Ferrari's second consecutive constructor's championship.
Speaking at the launch, Massa shared his first impressions of the car
the he will test drive for the first time later on Monday.

"To be honest I'm quite surprised because I expected a big car
like it was 10 years ago for example. When I get here the car is very, very
small, it's very compact in the rear end especially. It looks pretty nice, it
looks pretty cute, and hopefully it will be as quick as it looks," he
said.
After losing out to Britain's Hamilton in dramatic fashion at the final
race of the season, Massa warned his rivals that he will come back stronger
than ever this year.

"I feel stronger, I feel more experienced, especially after last
year, how the championship came from the middle to the end of the season, how
difficult it was. I think you learn and that makes me ready and even more
experienced for this year."

Raikkonen, who had a disappointing season in 2008 after winning the
world championship in 2007, is confident that the new car will be
competitive.

"It looks different because of the new regulations but after
looking at it for a little while you get used to it and for me it looks
different and it looks very good.

"I mean last year was not exactly what I wanted but it's in the
past now and we try this year again and of course it's a big question mark how
good the car is and who makes the best car because the rules have changed a
lot. I think we are very confident that the car should be very good and we
will see it in the next few weeks, how good it is against the
others."

Massa will drive the car for the first time at the Mugello track, snowy
conditions at Ferrari's usual Fiorano test circuit.
