You Too Can Have Hospital Zen
Author: Elizabeth Gilley

Maybe it's the smell of antiseptics or disinfectant in the air
but many people have fears of hospitals or clinics. If not,
maybe it is the association of hospitals to surgery, death, and
sickness that made our brains resistant to the thought of going
there. But what if you really need to? Say, you can hardly get
your nose or your chin done in your garage right? Here's a
positive thought for you: health and medical spas.

Think about how you would feel getting Botox injections, not
with the sound of droning machines, but of water cascading into
stone pools. Or how about getting a cleansing facial with the
scent of lavender and chamomile rather than alcohol? So much
relaxing right? This is what health and medical spas offers.
Researches show that people are more receptive to cosmetic
treatments and procedures when relaxed. Health and medical
benefits are also fully manifested when the body is in its
relaxed state. These results pushed forward the development of
health and medical spas. These spas are simply cosmetic surgery
clinics whose interiors and services are patterned after the day
spas of Europe. Availing of foot spa services are just as easy
getting a nose job. In short, medical cosmetic services (think
Botox, cellulite reduction, liposuction, etc.) and health spa
services (foots spas, hair spas, facials, massages,
aromatherapy) can all be availed in one place.

Health and medical spas differ in type. There are spas owned by
private individuals or even big beauty companies. Hospitals can
also have their own spas. Doctor-owned spas are usually the
most recommended because they have surgical facilities
affiliation. However, don't worry if your regular health and
medical spa is not doctor-owned. It is ruled that a medical
practitioner should be on the spa's premises all the time.
Also, most of these spas have affiliate cosmetic and plastic
surgeons, licensed aestheticians, and dermatologists. In
addition, some health and medical spas provide their own salon.
Now, isn't it great to get an over-all beauty make-over in a
single place?

In conclusion, the advantages of a health and medical spas are
great. First, with trained personnel, you can expect the
hospital-quality procedures. Secondly, with the relaxing
atmosphere you could get all the service and pampering of your
regular health spa. Third, you could even get personalized body
care systems. The only disadvantage I see is the damage you
could do to your credit card. After all, it's hard to resist
pampering and quality service under the same roof.
