American musician Bruce Springsteen says his latest album "Working on
a Dream" is a 'happy' record with a 'bright' tone.

COLUMBIA RECORDS/SONY BMG -
Legendary musician Bruce Springsteen releases his 16th album on
Monday (January 26), ahead of his performance at the Super Bowl on Saturday
(February 1).
"Working On A Dream" features 12 new songs and a bonus track.
It was recorded with the E Street Band and is the fourth collaboration between
Springsteen and music producer Brendan O'Brien.

The title track, the album's first release, was performed by
Springsteen at the Barack Obama rally in Ohio last November. Springsteen is a
staunch supporter of the newly-elected president and is not afraid to make his
sentiments known.
"My records always combine the personal and the political, and
there's not a lot of politics on the record, you know. There's context but not
a lot of politics, you know. But those forces are enormous forces in people's
lives, in nations lives, and they play on everybody, and everybody has to deal
with them," Springsteen said.

The Grammy award-winning artist scored another winner with the album's
bonus track "The Wrestler", winning a Golden Globe for best original
song from the film of the same name starring Mickey Rourke.
"The way that one came about was that I'd known Mickey Rourke for
a long time, and so he called me and said 'Yeah, you know this movie, it's
kind of a small movie, I'm looking for some music...' and I said 'Oh, I don't
think I'd have time to score a picture and I've never done it but, I said, if
I'd come up with a song... It's basically a song, sort of about being damaged
and living long. Damage, what it does to somebody, the inability to get in.
The inability to stand the things that nurture you," Springsteen
said.

Springsteen, nicknamed "The Boss", will perform at this
year's Super Bowl. He will be touring the United States from February and will
be performing in Europe between May and July.
