Uma Thurman testifies against her alleged stalker in a Manhattan court.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES (MAY 01, 2008) REUTERS -
Actress Uma Thurman testified on Thursday (May 1) that she felt
sickened and terrified by a man accused of stalking her and was disturbed to
hear he had been in contact with her family.
"I was completely freaked out. It was like a nightmare. It was
scary," the "Kill Bill" and "Pulp Fiction" actress
told a Manhattan criminal court in the trial of Jack Jordan.
Jordan, 37, is accused of sending harassing e-mails to Thurman's father
and brother, loitering for hours on the steps of Thurman's Manhattan apartment
and visiting her trailer on a movie set.
He is charged with misdemeanor counts of stalking and harassment. If
convicted, he could face up to one year in jail.
"The outcome that I'm hoping for is that the jury sees that even
though his actions seemed obsessive and excessive, that he never ever formed
the intent to annoy, threatened, alarm, or harass her, and he didn't think he
was scaring her," said Jordan's lawyer, George Vomvolakis.
Thurman's voice broke when asked about her two children, aged 6 and 9,
and her hand trembled as she held a card that Jordan had sent her at a
Manhattan movie set that read, "My hands should be on your body at all
times."
