A South African court has postponed the trial against the
headmistress of Oprah Winfrey's school for disadvantaged young girls in
Johannesburg. A lawyer representing the woman charged claims he needs more
time to prepare for trial, which the judge decided would be postponed until
July.
An Aston Martin car used in the the upcoming James Bond film
"Quantum of Solace" crashed into a lake in northern Italy while
being delivered to the set. The driver of the vehicle was taken to a local
hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore has endorsed Democratic
presidential candidate Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton, calling the campaign
tactics of the senator from New York "downright disgusting." In a
letter posted on his website, Moore accused Clinton of bigotry and using
racial fears to her benefit.
The Walt Disney Co. on Monday said it is launching a new film label
called Disneynature aimed at making wildlife and environmental movies for
theatres starting with the 2009 release "Earth." The new division
will be run by one of the producers of the surprise hit documentary "The
March of the Penguins," which won an Oscar in 2006.
