The Single Guy's Guide On How To Survive The
Holidays
Author: Ron Steiner

Let's face it - when you're single and the holidays are coming,
people usually take pity on you. People have this perception
that the holidays are tragic for those who do not have lovers
or families of their own to celebrate with. But that's all
there is to it - perception. The truth is, you can have a great
holiday experience even without a lover. Here are some upsides
to being single during the holidays:

You can go to all the holiday parties in town. If you're
single, that usually means that you don't have strict plans for
the holidays. In other words, you're working on a flexible
schedule. You can spend this time party-hopping and going to
the hippest clubs in your area. You might even meet someone
special along the way. And if you don't, dancing in a room full
of wild, pretty girls doesn't sound so bad.

You can spend money buying gifts for yourself rather than for a
significant other. Unlike the unlucky guys out there who spend
hundreds of dollars on gifts for their wives or girlfriends,
you have the power to spend money on anything you want. Whether
it's a new DVD, collectibles, clothes, or gadgets - you're
entitled to get gifts for yourself. Alternatively, you can also
put the money in savings and brag to your friends about how big
your bank account is while they're still paying for that
jewelry they bought for their girlfriends.

You can spend the holidays doing guy stuff. This means watching
action flicks, playing your favorite sport, or drowning yourself
in videogames all day. You also don't have to eat all the
frou-frou gourmet stuff that chicks usually like. You can grab
yourself a pizza, some burgers, and some booze - not exactly
the holiday diet you'll be having if you had a girlfriend.

You can stand under the mistletoe and kiss as many women as you
want. If you had a girlfriend, this kind of thing wouldn't be
possible (well, it would, but it has its consequences).

Spend the holidays with other single friends. This can be a
good time for you to catch up with your other single friends.
You can go out together as a group or just stay in and plan a
lot of fun stuff to keep yourselves occupied. Just because
you're single, it doesn't mean that you have to be lonely.
