Conspiracy Theory Proven
by Sharif Khan
"I've always been the opposite of a paranoid. I operate as if everyone is
part of a plot to enhance my well-being."
- Dr. Stan Dale, Founder of the Human Awareness Institute
In his book, The Success Principles, Jack Canfield describes his mentor, the
legendary W. Clement Stone (founder of Combined Insurance Co. and Success
Magazine), as being an 'inverse paranoid.' Stone whole-heartedly believed
that the world was plotting to do him good instead of plotting to do him
harm.
I decided to try on this belief and was pleasantly surprised with the
results. I began thinking and believing that people were plotting and
conspiring to do me good; that everyone was part of a grand conspiracy to
'enhance my well-being.'
Trying on this new belief, I began expecting good things to happen; and the
universe responded in kind. Within a short time, people were contacting me
out of the blue offering me unsolicited help! One kind lady emailed
me her media contact list to help me get more exposure for my work around
developing heroes; another person decided to include my professional
freelance copywriting services in his newsletter going out to hundreds of
people; someone else offered to help make my Hero Soul book available to
people going through tough times such as career transition, midlife crises,
stress, or dealing with an illness. The amazing thing is I never contacted
these people for help!
Recently, I was updating my website, http://www.herosoul.com, when an
interesting thing happened. Some total stranger had emailed me a link, quite
a while back, with a completely re-designed title graphic for my homepage.
He didn't ask for payment - and it was just puzzling to me why someone would
do that. After thanking him, I saved the email and quickly forgot about it.
But because I was in the head space of expecting good things to happen, as I
was updating my site, I remembered the email and replaced my boring,
Arial-font title graphic with the newly designed one. The point is that had
I not been in the head space of looking for how people were plotting to help
me, I probably would have forgotten all about that email and I wouldn't be
enjoying the better response I'm getting now. How many times do we take
wonderful things that people have done for us for granted? How quickly we
forget about the generous things that people do for us.
I have since then adopted this new belief system and I am convinced the
conspiracy theory is real. I now believe that there's a world-wide
conspiracy to help make my book, The Hero Soul, an international bestseller
translated in over 50 languages - making a powerful and positive impact in
the lives of millions of people around the globe!
Action Step
How about trying on this new belief system on for size? If it doesn't fit,
or you don't like it, you can always return it. What've you got to lose by
believing that people are out to get you - in a good way? That people are
conspiring everywhere to help you? Try it on for size. (I recommend at least
sixty days). Make a list of all the good things people have done for you in
the past couple months. Expect great things to happen. Write me at
inspire@herosoul.com if you'd like to share any interesting results that
you've experienced from trying on this new belief system.
